Minimum Impact,
Maximum Effect

Dan and the team at Seasons take their commitment to sustainable baking and the environment very seriously. We have implemented a huge range of measures, investing over £50,000 in total, to reduce the impact we have on the planet.

sustainable baking practices - weighing ingredients
We minimise our packaging, preferring paper bags to plastic, and use recycled and recyclable products wherever possible.

Our waste management policy has helped us reduce from 1.5 tonnes a week of general waste to almost zero. Comprehensive recycling, composting and returning non-recyclable materials to suppliers are key to our strategy.

Working with the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients minimises the food miles in our products. We pride ourselves on supporting local businesses and so work closely with our partnered local suppliers.
Our business partners also enable us to maintain our six days a week delivery whilst having reduced our van fleet by two and replaced all of our older vehicles with new, more eco-friendly models.

The bakery is fitted with new LED lighting, new ovens and a new ultra-efficient boiler and heating system to maximise energy efficiency and reduce electricity and gas usage for the business by as much as 70%.

All of these measures helped us to win a Craven Green Apple Environmental Best Practice award in 2019, and we have continued to invest and improve our practices since.
